What Are Dentures?

Dentures are custom-made false teeth designed to replace missing teeth. They help you eat, speak, and smile with confidence. At Tewantin Family Dental, our dentures are made to look natural and feel secure. When fitted properly, they shouldn't feel bulky, awkward, or obvious.

Dentures are typically for people who:

  • Are missing some or all of their teeth

  • Want to replace their current dentures that feel loose, worn or uncomfortable

  • Want a non-surgical option to replace missing teeth

  • Feel self-conscious or embarrassed about their current smile

If you’ve been putting up with discomfort or avoiding certain foods, you’re not alone and you’re not out of options.

Meet Your Tewantin Dental Prosthetist, Rob Arthur

All denture services at Tewantin Family Dental are provided by our in-house dental prosthetist, Rob Arthur, who has over 20 years’ experience designing and fitting dentures.

Unlike a general dentist, a dental prosthetist is specifically trained to design, fit and repair dentures. Rob focuses exclusively on denture solutions, ensuring precision, comfort and long-term results.

Seeing our local dental prosthetist means:

  • Better assessment of fit and function of your dentures

  • Same day and emergency denture repairs, relines, and adjustments

  • Dentures designed around your mouth, not a template

Rob works closely with our Tewantin dentists and hygienists to ensure every denture solution supports your oral health, comfort, and confidence.

Rob sees denture patients at Tewantin Family Dental on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

  • "Wow... Have a front tooth missing from an existing denture. Great service, terrific repair, and most importantly to me, a very fair price. Super happy!"

Final denture fitting and adjustments for comfort and stability.

How Much Do Dentures Cost?

Denture costs vary depending on the type of denture, complexity of the case, the materials used and whether you need a denture repair, adjustment or a full replacement.

Every denture repair is different. The final cost depends on the extent of damage, the type of denture, materials involved, and whether additional adjustments are required.

As a general guide, prices start from:

  • Denture repairs: commonly $254 – $292 for standard repairs

  • Denture relines: start from $272 - $522

  • Partial dentures: start from $1,087

    • Partial metal dentures: start from $1,918

  • Full dentures (upper and lower): start from $3,457

    • Full upper denture: start from $1,880

    • Full lower denture: start from $1,890

The best way to receive an accurate quote and understand your options is to book a complimentary assessment with our dental prosthetist. We will always provide a clear treatment plan and written quote before proceeding. If your healthcare fund covers denture services, we can help you understand your out of pocket costs.

Dentures FAQs

  • No, you don’t need a referral to see our dental prosthetist. You can book directly with Rob for denture consultations, repairs or new dentures. As part of Tewantin Family Dental, he works closely with our Noosa dentists and hygienists when needed, so your care is coordinated and convenient in one location.

  • That depends on the condition of the denture and how your mouth has changed. Rob is happy to offer a complimentary assessment.

  • Most dentures last 5–10 years, depending on wear, fit and changes in your mouth. Ill fitting dentures can damage teeth, reduce your ability to chew and affect your appearance.
